Magical Forest
1970-1979
The collection combines the features of timeless design with the values of high-class painting, surprising with the richness of shapes, colors and textures. Inspired by the world of plants, the nostalgic designs were created in the 70s of the last century by Franciszek Michałek. His murals for sanatoriums in Ciechocinek, now transformed into large-format wallpapers, have lost none of their magic. They stimulate emotions, opening the door to the inner world of our imagination. At the same time, thanks to the tasteful color palette based on shades of blue and green, they have retained their tension-soothing and calming power.
Miss and Nymphs
1957-59
Women absolutely rule in this collection. The individual patterns are inspired by the designs of wall decorations for cafes and restaurants in Bydgoszcz from the second half of the 1950s. We decided to keep the atmosphere of those works emanating with sensual energy. It is the most sensual of all our collections, a tribute to spontaneous and emotional femininity. The compositions are distinguished by unusual dynamics and intense colors, evoking associations with New Wave movies and jazz music.
Gray Mirages
1960s
The collection is monochrome and consists of wallpapers, the starting point of which were drawings by Franciszek Michałek made in the mid-1960s. The lack of color is perfectly compensated by the mastery of the drawing as well as the richness and variety of textures, creating a subtle, surreal atmosphere of individual projects. The sophisticated figures of people, animals, visions of the urban landscape will especially appeal to people sensitive to nuances and seekers of original artistic solutions. Each of the wallpapers in this collection intrigues with its style, form and atmosphere.
Surrealismus
1960s
A collection of wallpapers with a wide and varied subject matter, including animal, plant and architectural motifs, as well as stylized human figures. It consists of paintings, drawings and monotypes by Franciszek Michałek from the 1960s and several contemporary compositions by his son. We can find here both proposals for art connoisseurs and admirers of clear contemporary design. The works from half a century ago, kept in a dreamlike atmosphere, delight with their masterful drawing and finesse of details. Monochrome or a subdued color palette, the originals contrast with contemporary adaptations with intense, saturated colors.
Abstractions I
1960-1979
The universality of the Abstractions I collection is based on its diversity. It consists of original patterns transferred directly from the murals and mosaics that Franciszek Michałek made in the 1960s and 1970s. The atmosphere of the collection is created by dynamic compositions of pulsating paint spots, contrasted with the drawing precisely dividing the plane. In addition to proposals in intense, saturated colors, we can find here muted designs, limited to a warm or cool pastel color palette. We can choose abstractions based on the clear geometry of straight lines and soft ovals, associated with the world of nature and its non-obvious shapes. Wallpaper-mosaic designs, which are unique not only on a Polish scale, deserve special attention.
Abstractions II
2020
All wallpapers that make up this collection have been designed contemporarily with the use of motifs representative of the design of the 1950s and 1960s. The artistic atmosphere of the mid-twentieth century is reflected in characteristic color combinations – based on a game of saturated and broken colors, in which greens, browns and blues play a special role, emphasized by deep black or cool white. The collection includes a set of patterns referring to a wide range of inspirations – from ethnic art (African and Papuan), through European abstractionism, to painting from South America, vibrant with juicy colors.
Forms and Rhytms
2021-2024
A collection inspired by geometrical shapes, the solar system, planets and their symbolism. Circles, semi-circles, ellipses, spirals symbolising the Sun and the Moon are repeated according to a specific rhythm and placed next to one other in different configurations. They come in both calm greys and beiges as well as energetic reds, blues, greens and combinations of black and gold. The graphic compositions attract attention and become a starting point for the interior design. They’re naturally associated with the boho style, but will also suit loft and glamour interiors perfectly.
Friezes
1960-2021
The collection consists of contemporary designs, but the inspiration was the original frieze designs created by Franciszek Michał at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. This is the second, after “Halflings”, collection containing only wallpapers with repeating motifs. “Friezes” used in adjacent rooms can complement the style imposed by the main wallpaper, while in smaller spaces they can be used as an independent arrangement of the walls. Thanks to the variety of colors, patterns and styles referring to pre-Columbian art, wallpapers will work well in boho, vintage and loft-style interiors.
Halflings
1957-2021
All the patterns in this collection have been designed contemporarily, but the source of inspiration were details from Franciszek Michałek’s original designs, made in the 1960s and 1970s. This is the only collection that only contains wallpapers with resized repeating motifs. It is supposed to be a stylistic complement to other collections, a kind of complementary offer. Used in several neighboring rooms, The Halflings may thematically complement the theme introduced by the main wallpaper, while in a smaller space they may simply be an independent arrangement of the walls.
Zoo
1959
Although this collection includes wallpapers with birds, bugs or a mysterious forest, it is not addressed only to children, but rather to all those who appreciate the gift of unlimited imagination, regardless of age. However, Zwierzyniec is inspired by the paintings and drawings of Franciszek Michałek created with the intention of decorating walls in schools and kindergartens. Original works were created at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. It is a joyful collection, presenting an optimistic vision of a happy and cheerful world.
Seaside Girls
2025
A minimalist slim silhouette of a woman in a dress drawn by Franciszek Michałek in the ‘60s became an inspiration to create two inseparable friends who now feature as the main characters of this collection. The girls who symbolise the ‘60s style travel in time and take us on a journey around the corners of the modern world. The subsequent compositions are like postcards or travel souvenir photographs in which we can always see the girls in little black dresses. Subdued compositions featuring repetitive elements are perfect decorations for houses, apartments as well as hotels and guest houses.
Penguin Pan
2025
In the 1960s, Franciszek Michałek drew a sketch of a penguin on a small piece of paper, which inspired us to create the character of Penguin Pan. This colourful bird, known for its love of original costumes and endless fun, never intended to grow up. His name is not accidental, it refers to the character of Peter Pan, created by the Scottish novelist J.M. Barrie. The motif of Penguin Pan often appears in our designs. It appears on wallpapers, posters and figurines, adding a very personal character to our designs.
