Unique interior decorations

Design with a Story

FREZO is an exclusive decorative brand whose roots date back to the 1960s. We draw our inspiration from Polish art and design of that time, which was characterized by a unique style and aesthetics. The offer includes a wide selection of wall decorations, which are adaptations of wall paintings from the post-war period, as well as modern designs of wallpapers, posters, fabrics, ceramics and other interior design elements.

Our mission is to bring back to life forgotten and no longer existing works of art from the PRL period. We give them new forms and values, weave historical motifs into modern designs, thanks to which they experience a renaissance of their glory. By introducing forgotten patterns into modern interiors, we create spaces that not only delight with aesthetics, but also tell a story, combining the past with the present in a unique way.

We also create modern compositions that are based on the structures of natural materials, thanks to which they retain their authenticity and natural beauty. Nevertheless, even in them there is a note of nostalgia for the times when jazz and a little black dress reigned supreme.

Uniqe collections

FREZO wall decoration collections are original large-format compositions and wallpapers with repeating patterns, ideal for smaller rooms. They consist of adaptations of historical patterns of wall paintings from the years 1950-1980 and contemporary designs inspired by surrealism and abstraction.

Coherent concept

FREZO design is a coherent concept in which motifs from large-format wallpapers also appear on fabrics or ceramic decorations. These mutually complementing elements give the interior an original and artistic character. Our products not only decorate, but also create a unique atmosphere in the interior, combining history with modernity.

Art in the interior

Each wallpaper with a large-format composition is absolutely unique, and the arrangement of elements is unique and used only once. The originality of each wallpaper is confirmed by the author’s signature and an individual number, which gives it the character of an exceptional work of art.

Tradition and Modernity

Unique Collections

FREZO collections harmoniously combine historical and contemporary patterns, creating one-of-a-kind compositions and motifs. Original, hand-painted works from the 50s and 60s coexist with modern patterns inspired by the structure of natural materials such as wood, fabrics, plants and stones. They are carefully selected and digitized to capture their unique textures and patterns. Thanks to this, our designs retain their authenticity and natural beauty, giving each interior a unique character. FREZO is a harmonious combination of history and modernity, which brings refined design, a unique atmosphere of years gone by and timeless elegance to today’s interiors.

Private Design

For individual orders, we create wallpapers with new, unique patterns, carefully matched to the interior concept. Additionally, we create unique decorative elements, such as cushions, posters or fabrics, which harmoniously work with the dominant element, which is the wallpaper. Thanks to this, the whole creates a coherent and aesthetic composition, emphasizing the character and style of the interior.

Design with a Story

Our Story

Our history dates back to the 1950s, when the Toruń artist Franciszek Michałek, after completing his studies, began creating monumental wall compositions, which were created until the end of the 1970s. Unfortunately, in the 1990s, his works, like many other murals and mosaics from the PRL period, were destroyed. After his death, hundreds of designs and sketches were discovered, which became the basis for a large exhibition at the Toruń Center for Contemporary Art. Then, his works were digitally reconstructed and transferred onto wallpapers, which gave rise to the FREZO brand. Over time, the offer was expanded to include contemporary designs of fabrics, carpets, ceramics and posters, preserving the unique atmosphere of Franciszek’s work.

Flexible cooperation with professionals

CAD
Textures

We provide architects and design offices with a full set of textures for our wallpapers and other wall decorations. This means you can freely use our materials when creating visualizations and interior designs. Our textures are available in high resolution, which allows for accurate reproduction of details and colors, providing realistic and professional presentations for clients.

Preliminary Projects

We create preliminary designs and sketches of wall decorations that are precisely adapted to the proportions of a specific wall and the style of the room. We prepare them in the form of textures that you can then use in visualizations presented to the client.

Wallpaper Samples

We prepare wallpaper samples with selected fragments of the composition upon request. Thanks to them, you can see the color, texture and pattern of the wallpaper in real lighting. The samples allow for a perfect match of the color scheme to the rest of the interior, guaranteeing a harmonious and coherent arrangement.

Private
Design

We also create custom-made wall decorations that are perfectly matched in color, style, and theme to the interior design. We can design and produce a whole line of products, including wallpapers, curtains, upholstery fabrics, and cushions that will work harmoniously together.

Life and Work of Franciszek Michałek

Journey into the center of time

“I don’t know if Franciszek Michałek liked music. Perhaps he was listening to the radio when designing mosaics or scratching his lyrical compositions in black celluloid. He certainly knew „Na moście w Avignon”, a poem by Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński sung masterfully by Ewa Demarczyk. But did he feel any artistic communion with the poet who tragically died in the Warsaw Uprising? In my opinion, although they used various means of expression, they share a strong generational relationship. And maybe it was the mythical spirit of the times that made the lines of „Sur le pont d’Avignon” perfect for illustrating the atmosphere of Michałek’s artistic work. In any case, I say that they will fulfill this task much better than the critic or curator who translates what the artist wanted to convey on a daily basis.”

Details
are important

Wallpapers from historical collections give the impression of hand-painted works of art. Every brushstroke is clearly visible, and in the case of drawings and monotypes, even the smallest lines are precisely rendered. The texture of the wallpaper surface resembles a painting canvas, which additionally emphasizes their artistic character. Contemporary compositions are based on the textures of natural materials, such as wood or plants. Thanks to this, you can see subtle details, such as wood grain or leaf structure, which gives the wallpapers authenticity and natural beauty. Each wallpaper becomes a unique decorative element that harmoniously harmonizes with the interior, creating a coherent and aesthetic space.
